New Interim CEO

Lorraine Auerbach named Interim CEO for Seton Medical Center/Seton Coastside

(Daly City, CA, June 10, 2008) -- Lorraine P. Auerbach, FACHE, was appointed Interim President and CEO of Seton Medical Center/Seton Coastside. The hospitals are members of the Daughters of Charity Health System (DCHS), a six-hospital system spanning the California coast.

Auerbach’s credentials include more than 25 years of hospital and healthcare executive experience, having worked extensively as a hospital CEO. Auerbach most recently served as President of Century City Doctors Hospital, an acute care hospital with a UCLA affiliation. She was responsible for creating, implementing and operating this fully functional new hospital. Among other accomplishments at Century City, she recruited members of the executive and management team and created a vision that set an exceptional standard for patient safety and quality, financial and service excellence.  “Seton is a hospital with enormous potential. I am looking forward to helping guide the organization as it embarks on its journey from good to great,” said Auerbach.

Auerbach has demonstrated expertise in strategic repositioning, financial turnarounds, medical staff development and accreditation/licensure compliance. She has served as a guest lecturer at USC, UC Irvine and UC Davis, and a featured speaker on topics such as new models of health care delivery and realizing a sustainable architecture for health. Among other prestigious appointments, Auerbach served as Chairman of the CEO Committee 2007-2008 of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is board certified in healthcare administration and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“I’m very pleased Lorraine joined our health system,” said Robert Issai, president and CEO of DCHS. "She is an innovative leader with broad-based experience in operations, finance and business development.”

A national search for a new chief executive is planned. The Board of Directors, leadership and medical staff members will be involved in selecting the new administrator.
