At Seton Medical Center, we share that commitment with you because we have seen it at work since 1893, when our founders, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, began caring for Bay Area mothers and children.
In our Women & Newborn Services department, our experienced medical staff is guided by the Daughters' respect and caring for individuals and their unshakable commitment to quality. This means that we are dedicated to helping you stay focused and at ease, knowing that your child's birth will happen the way you want it, as long as it is consistent with sound medical practice. The Women & Newborn Services department offers a comprehensive range of services, specific to the needs of the mother and the baby. We offer five labor and delivery rooms, in addition to a Level II nursery, with the most up-to-date equipment, should the baby have special care needs.
Education
At Seton Medical Center, we provide the healthiest environment for you and your baby. Our complete program of childbirth education classes will help you have a healthy pregnancy and prepare for the birth of your child. Our breastfeeding center is conveniently located on our maternity floor, and our coordinator is available to assist you with breast pumps and all of your breastfeeding needs. During your hospital stay, we encourage you to attend our mom/baby class and breastfeeding support group.
